NEED

In all the properties of the Margaritaville Resorts chain, a very peculiar iconic sculpture is exhibited either in the motor lobby or in the interior lobby that represents a whole concept from which the company was developed and founded, it is motivated by a song that the owner Jimmy Buffet wrote and it is very popularly known, it represents a sandal whose lace cut through an aluminum lid and was forgotten in the sand.

Scenic has made many replicas of this sculpture for various properties both in the Caribbean and in the United States, however, this piece has a different formal characteristic and location, it has a life preserver in the main body and is placed in the lobby/interior registry of a cruise, a new concept of services for the chain.

PROCESS

The difference with other sculptures that we have made is the spatial consideration of assembly and transfer, the study of the assembly was meticulous since in many ways it exceeded the dimensions of a container and the dimensions in the accesses of the transept are reduced, also the type of finish It was different since in this particular case the process was artistic airbrushing. Technically it was a challenge to find the ideal parameters since the weight of the sculpture should not exceed the existing reinforcements in the mezzanine of the ship.

OUTCOME

The result is exactly what the client was waiting for, a unique piece with the quality that Scenic Studios continues to demonstrate, as well as the assembly and assembly systems that allowed the installation team a smooth process.
