Day of the Dead
The Day of the Dead is a Mexican festival celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO since 2008. At Scenic, we draw inspiration from the traditional elements of this celebration, like marigold flowers, which, according to tradition, guide spirits back to their loved ones. These flowers, with over 20 different species in Mexico, are an essential symbol in event decorations.
Another iconic element is "papel picado" (cut paper), which is used to represent the fragility of life and integrates perfectly into modern designs. Sugar skulls, dating back to the 18th century, have become a universal symbol of the Day of the Dead and can be personalized to add a special touch to any event.
At Scenic, we adapt these details into contemporary altars, blending elements like lights and candles that symbolize the path for the spirits. We also incorporate themed stations and dessert tables inspired by this tradition to give a creative and modern twist to your celebrations.
Our goal is to transform your event into a tribute to this tradition which, in 2023, brought together over 5 million people in various celebrations across Mexico. At Scenic, we combine the authenticity of these customs with innovative design, creating an experience that is both visually striking and emotionally meaningful.
